A video from the city of Ujjain in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh has gone viral on social media, in which a man can be seen allegedly sexually abusing a woman on the roadside.
The most alarming thing about the incident was that during this incident which took place on the side of the road in broad daylight, instead of stopping the rapist, people kept making a video of it. According to the police, the accused and the video maker have also been arrested.
The shameful incident has raised serious questions about the violation of human and especially women’s rights and the state of social behavior in the world’s largest democracy.
The opposition party Congress has criticized the ruling party Bharatiya Janata Party and said that Madhya Pradesh is number one in rape, abduction and oppression of women.
It should be noted that in September last year in Ujjain, a semi-nude video of a 15-year-old injured girl who was sexually abused went viral in which she was going from house to house asking for help from people.
